Wow… it’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it? I never stopped cooking, creating recipes, or taking way too many food photos, but somewhere between becoming a mom to three beautiful daughters, starting a floral business, and deciding to homeschool (because clearly I enjoy chaos), blogging slid to the back burner. I mean, I meant to keep it up. By the time I finished the daily grind, I was too wiped to string together more than a coherent sentence, let alone a blog post. And since I didn’t exactly have (nor did I want) the so-called “village,” it supposedly takes to raise a child (or three), I pretty much carried the load myself with my husband's help. Don't get me wrong, I would'nt trade it for the world. I've enjoyed these years tremendously and honestly the early childhood years go by in a blur and faster than any parent would like. So no regrets, but sometimes somethings gotta give.
But here’s the thing—I never quit cooking. Not once. I kept creating, plating, photographing, and eating (obviously). I’ve got a backlog of meals from the Covid years that never saw the light of day—because, honestly, who had the bandwidth to hit “publish”?
Now, though? I’m feeling the itch again. My brain’s waking up, my creative juices are finally flowing, and I’m ready to throw myself (and my food) back out there. Bonus: I’ve actually started writing my first cookbook. Yep, it’s happening.
So consider this my dramatic re-entry: I’m back, baby. Or at least, I’m trying to be. Think of this post as an amuse-bouche for the return of The Yuca Diaries. Stay tuned… because this time, I mean it. (Probably.)
